Cloning Events

Summary

Once you have created a Sparkhub-powered Event that you like, you will want to reuse it! This article outlines the exact steps to follow to achieve the "five-minute setup."

Details

  1. When creating a new Event from your Events page, type in an Event ID for your new Event. In the "Event ID to Clone" field, enter the ID of an existing Event you want to clone. It can be any of your own Events, or one belonging to another Sparkhub user, if they have made it shareable. Click "Create."
  2. Your Event will be preloaded with some of the settings from the Event you cloned. Review all tabs and edit as needed. Most commonly, you'll want to change the following:
    1. Basic Info tab: Event title, Primary Date (which will shift all dates in the Event Timeline accordingly), Order Link. Change the Signup and Party Pages only if you wish to use different landing pages. If you like the layout of your first Event's PBLPs, then let Sparkhub Dynamic Fields update them for you by using the same page again. Sparkhub will create a unique link at the same page, that will display the new Event's info.
    2. Host tab: select the new Host from the dropdown box if needed.
  3. If you cloned from another user, note that you'll need to indicate new Pages to point to your own. Furthermore, it will be important to comb through the Signup Workflow and Event Timeline. If the other Sparkhub user indicated PB Templates, Keywords, or Campaigns, then those will not work in your account. You'll need to select them now from the drop-down boxes to ensure Sparkhub will know what to do in your own PB account.
  4. Save the new Event in Sparkhub. Review the following to ensure the information looks good:
    1. Party Page
    2. Signup Page
    3. Host Portal
  5. If there are Sparks, remember to launch them so they'll run.
  6. Send the Host Portal, if using, and begin your Event!
