2022.07.20 - New PB Action, Auto-tagging
Release summary
- When editing an Event, the "PB Actions" section now lets you add the guest directly to a campaign when they sign up, without needing to first create an associated Keyword.
- This is in addition to the actions previously available: sending an immediate message to the guest (with the Party Page appended), and applying a Keyword.
- Sparkhub will now automatically tag guests with the unique tag, "sh-eventid", so that even if you don't set up a guest Keyword on the front end, your Contacts will be organized. Then, you can later use this tag to send one-off messages, add those guests to another Campaign you didn't set up at the start, etc.
- One other minor, unrelated change: the "Order Now" button in your PBLP that is created with Sparkhub code has been corrected: before, if the text stacked, it aligned to the left. Now it is centered.

What this means for you
- Simpler setup in PB: You may not need to create a Keyword for your Event. Since guests are tagged with a unique tag associated with the event (sh-eventid), you no longer need the tagging that a Keyword provides. Since you can add guests to a Campaign, you no longer need a Keyword to trigger your Campaign.
- Easier visibility on the guest list in PB: thanks to the auto-tagging, you'll be able to do later event-related actions in PB even if you didn't set them up at the start. For example, maybe your Host started inviting people before you had a PB Campaign ready and added as a PB Action in Sparkhub. No problem! You'll be able to add those early guests to the Campaign inside PB. Similarly, perhaps you want to send a one-off message, such as a message about extending the order deadline, or a message 6 months later when your Host is hosting again and you want to invite them to join again. You can simply schedule it in PB using the tag to make sure it reaches the guests.
- To find all guests for an Event in your PB account, simply go to the Tags area and search your Event ID!
Cautions
- The auto-tagging of guests with (for example) "sh-abc123" (if the Event ID is "abc123") is not retroactive. If you have events that are in process, with guests who signed up prior to this update, they were not tagged. Keep this in mind if you pull up the tag in PB. Note that you can go in and tag them yourself if you wish.
- If you have a free (social) PB account, you can still connect it to Sparkhub by entering your PB API key in your Profile settings. This will unlock the "PB Actions" tab. However, you likely should not attempt to set any of the optional PB Actions, because you can't message non-PB numbers. However, you can let Sparkhub add guests as PB Contacts and apply the automatic tag to them. This could be helpful if you later upgrade to a paid plan, or if you use PB for its upcoming CRM (Customer Relationship Management) functions.
